Wing Bowl '09 -- Obi Wing Wins For Photogenic...

Look, all I have to say is that probably 1 in 3 photos from the wing bowl that make it into the papers/online are of our friend Doug (pictured in this article). He didn't win, or even come that close, but he's a freaking maniac and one of my favorite people on our rugby team.
Best is watching him on the tryouts for the wingbowl, where he apparently eats anything that gets thrown at him, and then calls his super-secret escape plan to exit studio...

Actually, I think this is sort of a fascinating exercise, even beyond the first-level irony inherent in the concept... because when you think about it, this is simply the same concept of gaming eternal damnation, except the medium involved is far more tangible. Does it sort of negate the whole idea of the fire-and-brimstone god-fearing? Sure. But if these people aren't going down that road anyway, it certainly can't hurt. And it forces one to examine the question of a deity's "existence" under a whole new light, really.
Long and short, I'm all for it.
