Really interesting collection of essays and primers on the possibility we are on the verge of a technological singularity. Every time I hear this sort of thing it makes me wonder if there were times in the past when there were similar claims of “the sky is falling” and nothing really that bad happened…but then again we never really had the opportunity to create artificial intelligence. I mean that’s the real crux of the difference claimed, here. For a science-obsessed nerd such as myself, it’s hard to imagine a much more interesting topic.
But then again, sometimes the whole thing just makes my head hurt.
