Yeah, not sure what kind of idiocy prompts someone to duct-tape small branches to themselves to disguise as a tree…needless to say, it didn’t work very well.

The author clearly had fun writing that story.
Some of the puns were pretty amusing in their subtlety: "At first, with no trail to follow, the local police appeared somewhat stumped.".
Others were downright awful: "But the tree robber had not reckoned with the power of 'grass'" - did he mean "grassroots"?
