If A Particle Is Discovered And Nobody Hear It...

It's interesting how high-energy physics used to be such a romantic and sought-after arena, yet as we continue the push into further definition of sub-atomic particles we seem to be losing interest in the popular view (well, whatever popular following was *ever* accorded to high energy physics, anyway)

even with massive projects like CERN's Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the hopeful discovery of the "god" particle... nobody really seems to be very worked up about the subject. I guess we're off watching American Idol or something instead...<sigh>
